Awesome! I've seen a couple dragons flying around the same area at the same time, but never three and never a dragon fight. That would be worth recording, without a doubt!
@Renz: does the mechanism tell you what part you're missing? I'm going to have to go explore those ruins (again?) just to find that device - but you have to tell us where the ruins are. :ebil: Although it's probably part of some mini-quest it'd still be fun to see if I could actually activate the thing.

Parts of some dungeons are inaccessible unless you do them as part of a quest. I don't know if that's the case here, just throwing it at you

Ok, you're on. Unless this is part of the main quest which we most probably wont touch any time soon, the first one to figure this out gets one internetz :D

Nope. All it tells me is that I don't have the required part to activate it. I'm also thinking it isn't just a mini-quest. From the few I've explored, it's looking more and more like most of the big Dwemer ruins are tied together somehow.
Sucks, cuz I want to know what all this stuff does. It seems I'm coming into it all right from the middle.
Oh, and the location?
It's dead southwest of Winterhold. Just a stone's throw away from Sarthaal. The entrance isn't immediately apparent. The towers are fairly obvious, but finding your way into the ruins proper will take a bit of looking. Read the expedition journal near the sealed tower on top of the glacier for a clue.

I've seen several functional dwarven devices that look like that. It could be a lot of places.

Alftand? If so, then it's part of the main quest.

Dang. I've been to the wrong ruins then so far :/
Anyway, back on topic:
- Clipping Red Eagles' wings
- Fighting alongside a Hagraven (!)

Thanks for the info, Renz. And Ff; you're on! If it's Alftand then I've already been there, but will follow Renz' directions & see what I can find. Right now I'm just exploring some more.
Did have some 'wtf' moments while doing a part of the Nightingale quest (Darkness Returns?). Seems one of the Nightingales does the rolling maneuver when advancing with me & a companion Nightingale thru a certain underground ruin. She'll walk several steps, then drop & do a somersault roll like she's evading arrows or something even when there are no enemies nearby. Looks pretty cool when she does that, but unfortunately when we're high up on narrow walkways she keeps rolling herself right off & landing on the ground a few stories below with a thud. She lives, but then we have to wait for her to make her way back up to where we're standing. Definitely a few wtf's coming from yours truly during that segment of the quest. :weird:

Yup. That's the place. Looks like I've finally got a good excuse to pick up the main quest again. I guess I'll start it after I do these next 5 quests I've got lined up...and then if I don't find any other interesting thing to do while I'm in the midst of those.
Damnit. There's too much cool crap to do in this game.

Thanks for the answer Renz; I've been wandering around a place called 'Sightless Pit' which isn't very extensive at all for Dwemer ruins and couldn't find a thing. At least now I know where to start exploring (again). I can't remember seeing that device in your screenshot the last time I visited that place though, unless it was part of the quest I did quite a few days ago. That's the problem; I've done so many quests and explored so many Dwemer ruins I can't remember.
But then again, who's complaining?!
:cheeky:
Edit: Okay, I've been back to that ruin, found the device shown in your ss, and can't for the life of me remember if I had to trigger that during the main quest for that ruin. I still have several of the artifacts used during that quest, but nothing seems to work. I don't get a message saying that I'm missing a part, so maybe I've already triggered that device. No idea.
My memory sucks.
