That thing is straight out of Silent Hill, especially making that noise (from a generator maybe?). The slow-motion robot abuse was a nice touch.

The indoor scenes at the end look like everything's being powered electrically... and quietly.

My first impression was that some mad scientist had connected the lower bodies of two dancers to either end of some bizarre life-support/computer mechanism. Why? I don't know; that's why they're called mad scientists.
