Ok, I had a level 1 Argonion Warrior (I was making mages and thieves first) I was at Cyber-Games and getting bored so I wanted to start playing Battlefield 2. I saved, then decided to attack a palace guard. I only had rusty iron armour and a rusty iron longsword but after a bit of blocking and healin potions, the guard was dead! Is this because they decided to change your character to being really weak when you start the game (From Morrowind) to really strong? Of are palace guards just really weak?

Because of all the stupid levelling crap they put in Oblivion, pretty much every enemy in the game with level up with you, so at the start they will be really lame and at higher levels they will be stupidly powerful. Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul will fix this atrocity.
Another thing to consider is the difficulty slider. Put it all the way to the left and you can practically kill anything in one hit, put it all the way to the right and most things will kill you with one hit.

I always forget about the difficulty slider...I just get used to playing the game at normal, not taking into account that I can just make the game easier when I reload this battle for the tenth time...It also might help my sister's account...(She really just played the game so she could spend 2 hours making a character) But thanks for telling me that.

Way offtopic, but hell, my memory could play a trick on me, and if such happened I would feel very embarrased in a new thread:)
I've noticed lately some weapon replicas locked inside castle showcases that cost absolutely nothing and make no damage, but only weigh like real ones.
At Arkane University, for instance, there was a real glass dagger locked when I played for the first time. At the quest where you have to sneak through the Mages passage unsean, there is this showcase that you just can't miss :)
I swear it was real the first time!
Or I'm losing my mind...

I remember thinking the same thing, early on in the game seeing some lovely glass armour, then spending ages building my skills up to get into the case, only to be horribly dissapointed to find out it wasn't the genuine atricle.
I could have sworn it changes half way through the game :p

They are display pieces. As in put them on display or wear them for ceremonies, but not made for combat.
