This may sound stupid but can someone tell me how to clos teh gate outside choros

ive opened up all the gate things iin oblivion, but since then ive been going around in circles, so how do i get up to where i usually turn it off :) Its the one with the volcano tornado towers

Nobody knows, the gates are fairly random afaik.

Is that the one with the 6 smaller towers surrounding the central spire? If so you need to open the large gates from 4 of the small towers, exit the towers and go up one of the small towers you've not been inside yet.

ive just managed to do it now, i got annoyed of walking around and just jumped down and accidentaly and nicely got to the bottom with some health left, so i then waited and then began my climb! yay
