I've definately joined too many groups. I thought I would join as many houses, guilds, and cults as possible so I could get as many skill power up's as I possibly could. Boy was this a mistake or what ? I'm at level 20, and man is the back stabbing going on big time now! I'm to the point where I don't trust anybody. Seems anything I do is going to piss off someone.... somewhere down the line. Freinds, enemies, back stabbing members of your own house, and trickers of the trade...HOLY CRAP! :tsktsk: Where on this planet do I go now ? (I really don't want to know....it's just cruel to decide what I should do next.)

Here's a short list of people you can absolutely trust in the game. Warning: I have no idea how far you are, so these might contain spoilers.
Cassius Curias (the Blade guy in Balmora), all the Blade Trainers, the Fighter's Guild steward in Ald'Ruhn, all of the mage guides, the Grandmaster of the Morag Tong, Edwinna the Mages' Guild Steward in Ald'Ruhn, and both the Wise Woman and the Ashkhan of the Urzi&*2jobzh48~i Camp Ashlanders.
Most of the other major players in the game (i.e. people you'll talk to more than once or who give you plot-branch info or tasks) have an agenda of some sort against another person or playable faction. The ones I listed above are either Totally Pure of Motive or only have a grudge against an UNplayable faction in the game.
Please note: this list may not be complete. I may come back and add to it later. And, I may also be wrong about the unplayable factions that occurred to me. But it's at least a jumping-off point.

I would add
Gentleman Jim Stacey
to that list, he's quite a nice guy

But Zerker,
he may be a nice guy, but he orders you to take out the head of the Fighters' Guild. Which may be for very altruistic reasons, and the head of the Fighters' Guild may be in bed the with the UNPLAYABLE Camonna Tong, but he's still a member of the Fighters' Guild, so he's potentially your ally and boss.
That's why I didn't include him.

yeah, kill them all.

Oh, that's your solution to everything...
Tuco on 31/5/2002 at 05:26
Well it worked =\

I suppose... but from my friend,
if you do the head of the fighter's guild's quests, he tells you to take out the Thieves Guild! So there's no real reason not to take him out :)
