If I knew his real name I could maybe find out his phone number and call just to hear his voice.

I suck at math. That's why I like working with computers-- they do the math for me.
Shit, I just signed up for a bunch of math classes next semester. I figured, "It seems like a lot of CS is just a subset of math, they've got CS in the title, and they require what I've already taken, so it's a logical progression". If its okay to suck at math it makes me wonder if I'm wasting my time. I even neglected signing up for Quantum Physics to avoid scheduling conflict. Sure, that wasn't going to be useful to me at all, but then I'd know a bit of what I was talking about when I inserted QM into threads it doesn't belong in. At least at the end of this semester I'm done with German, coincidentally the only thing I've taken here that doesn't require math.

Well, knowledge of maths is useful in CS depending on what you expect to do for work : if you do management software ( the add/remove/modify kind of grind ), maths won't be very useful, but in scientific and industrial domains it's useful to understand a bit of maths. And even then the maths will already be sorted out for you most of the time. One thing though : to know how to optimize code requires some grasps at maths.
Also I hear that knowing German can be useful in CS; it appears that a lot of CS is being done in Germany. But don't hold your breath; that's just hearsay.
