Well, for the folks that want EM news separated from the "unofficial sources", why don't we just make lists of links doing just that? That way we can see what's official and what's not at a quick glance.

Can we "burn" guards or suffocate them with dry-ice arrows? Can we freeze water like in T2X? There better be multiple uses for these new, elemental-less arrow gadgets. They aren't selling me on anything. They say things I want to hear, but bury those things in insults or paragraphs of crap or imagery that shows something else I don't want to have anythign to do with.

I had the same reaction as Chade - just more Taffers like us bitching about the mess we think EM is making of Thief. I'd like to see the link wherein Game Informer offers a full preview of T4 to paying members, btw, because I couldn't find any such offering on their website. Sounds like the same kind of speculation that's been going on over here. Don't get me wrong, I'm hissy as hell at EM, but until I see the gameplay video (realizing full well it may take EM another 10 months to perfect that :devil:) or EM releases a video where they state item-by-item, beyond the shadow of a doubt what will and won't be in T4 (yeah, like
that's gonna happen :p ), I'll try to keep my pessimism and hissiness in check.

For me the no undead thing is second only to the SR thing. It's not as much a deal breaker, but it's a huge thing for me. Thief is not the same for me without undead, sorry.
No magic is also pretty bad, and a stupid decision. Thief's fantasy elements are an essential part of it. Take that away and you kill a part of it. So why do that? Why?
I like the Hammers and it would be nice to have them back, as they are an integral part of the Thief world.
Dry ice arrows? Really? Again, why?
No Burricks: I wouldn't mind so much as long as there were other strange and interesting creatures, though I doubt that's the case
No rope arrows: I can live with a grappling hook, at least it's not as bad as climbing gloves.
Modern swearing: again, why? What point are they trying to make?

You know Dia, it's really a hard one, especially being an optimistic person by nature, to voice discontent in a situation that ought to be filled with praise and love. If we were talking about one detail, then it would be possible to take a 'wait and see' approach, but that is a long list, and when you take it with the other concerns voiced by other (apparently) unreliable sources, its pretty hard to assume that all of it is fabricated. Even if a few of these things are wrong, the list of things done wrong remains damning. Your willingness to pretend all of these things are simply untrue because they don't come from EM saddens me. This is not to say that I take everything we've read as correct, but there are a lot of trends we're seeing, and it must be fairly improbable that all these things are simply untrue.
