I wouldn't go as far as saying most vile. At least not the modern day catholic church.

I'm gonna throw a wide net here and just say that demanding celibacy for clergymen breeds pedophilia. Yes, I'm a rocket scientist.
Quoted for the truth.
I think some of the strict rules that the Catholic church in particular try to enforce are ridiculously unfair and jut plain wrong like the no female priests rule.
Well anyway Christianity(and the Catholic church in general) has a history of doing the wrong thing(*cough*South American tribes*cough*)
What pisses me off the most is their "medieval" view of the world(ie, other religions are heresy, homosexuals are evil, stem cell research is evil etc.) and that is stronger than ever with the current Pope.

What pisses me off is that I can't legally beat pedophiles until they shit themselves. Childhood is a goddamn magic time and for assholes to degrade that one time in life when life is perfect with thier own selfish desires and for a whole organization to cover it for it's own selfish reasons which go directly against everything they stand for is reason enough to stomp someone into a new understanding.

What scares me is the sheer number of sex offenders/child molesters; especially in my neighborhood alone! Though it's against the law for these offenders to live within so many feet of a school or any other place where there are children such as a daycare center, you can see from the map that the offenders' residences are far too close to these places for comfort. (I doubt that
any of the registered offenders shown on any maps are members of the clergy .... go figure.)
Inline Image:
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c262/Diah_/Offendersinmyneighborhood.jpgThis probably sounds crazy, but instead of putting the Native Americans on Reservations, we should create Reservations for all the child molesters/rapists, etc. Keep 'em all in one place where they have NO access to kids, period. And where we can keep an eye on them.
'Prentky et al. (1997) examined recidivism rates on 115 child molesters and concluded that: (1) child molesters remain at risk to reoffend long after their discharge, in some cases 15-20 years after discharge; (2) there is a marked underestimation of recidivism rates.
Likewise, a review by the American Psychological Association (2003) concluded that "the research demonstrates that even sexual offenses against children that occurred long ago evince a continuing risk of recidivism by the offender." ' Sorry for the rant, but the molesting and/or rape of children is a subject that makes me wish I owned a gun. It makes me crazy that clergy members who have commited child abuse, rape, etc., aren't arrested and tried by the same laws as all the other offenders. I read this article which explains why (it caused my frustration level to rise drastically):

Yep; put them all on Reservations. Or just line them up and shoot them.
'Nuff said.

There is, ironicly, a really pretty Catholic church on the lake in Waukegan which is some sort of historic tourist thing now. The whole town, although a bit run down in spots, is quite scenic. It blows my mind there is such a seedy underbelly to it. Jesus, they have you surrounded.
Dad used to say they should be hung up by the offending end until it rotted off and if they reoffended hung up by the other end. It's a bit difficult to explain that sentiment to nonparents though.

I know the church you're referring to Tocky and it is quite pretty. Ya know, I couldn't figure out why clergy sex offenders haven't been being arrested until I started looking up articles on the subject. It really infuriates me that the Church is placing itself (and its offending clergy) above the law like this. For the sake of what - scandal?? My God! It's not like it's a secret anymore.
I never put much stock in organized religions, especially of the Roman Catholic kind. I think new laws need to be instituted that specifically cover clergy sex offenders and force the Church to divulge names. As far as the statute of limitations on such offenses, there should be none.
Yeah right; like the Church would cooperate anyhow... :weird:
“It's a constant fight over documents,” Marci Hamilton, a professor of constitutional law at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, told NCR. Hamilton, who has made oral arguments for plaintiffs in the California cases, said: “The church is arguing that it has civil law privileges in the First Amendment to release as few files as possible. ... What's really going on is, the longer the archdiocese delays, the more likely the statute of limitations runs out on cases that could be prosecuted. They're playing an intentional delaying game.”Excerpt from (

As far as my being surrounded; it's not myself I worry about, but all those sweet kids here in town.

I'd really want to say something cynical, atheistic and sarcastic here. And preferrably something defaming the pope, that archaic outdated bastard.
But I can't. This is just too damn sad.
