This is where I fear we were mislead from the beginning of the religious schism, for example in the Torah the holy day of Sabbath (Shabbat), begins with the sun down on friday and ends with the sun down on saturday, does this means that the sun or the light itself that it casts down on us plays an important role in this religion?
