@Kolya - I totally agree, especially what you said about inalienable human rights. I've just not worked out how to reconcile that with the duty to protect that Tocky's talking about. I don't envision "kill or be killed" scenarios so much, but I wonder if pressed, whether those inalienable rights or the right to protection for innocents is primary? Like Tocky, I would argue the latter without hesitation. Not sure how that fleshes out when discussing prevention. But that's why we discuss it, no?
