This is not the 10 Greatest Albums of 2000-2009, this is just a tribute - by henke

I figured out what my top 10 are.
I think posting it would just result in a lot of mocking, though, so I'll hold back:P This decade has been a lot more about me discovering music from previous decades.

you post your music list and I'll post my film list and it'll all even out, then
Aerothorn on 4/12/2009 at 22:34
Sounds good. I'll post it in a bit when others get a chance to share theirs do the "WTFs" don't derail the thread.

this seems like something for me, but I haven't listened to it yet. Like Stars of the Lid?
yesss.... it's slightly more CASUAL if that makes any sense, they even have lyrics!! it's probably my favourite ambient album ever but I've been listening a lot of Refinement of Their Decline lately and couldn't decide between the two so I added both.

Bloodbath are fantastically boring. I think I may be alone in this. :(

I don't know if this was just a typo but Music... was their first release.
No, not a typo, just completely misinformed!

Apart from the fact that it was released in 1997, I totally agree.
Well see, that's why it wasn't going to be listed, apart from the misspelling of the title. My decades run together like a two year olds watercolor.
How about Robot Hive Exodus by Clutch then? I'm fairly certain it was this decade and nobody will mention it for realzers.
Turtle on 5/12/2009 at 04:47
I was this >< close to posting some Clutch, but I'm more partial to Pure Rock Fury.

No surprises here, I'm sure.
Actually, I'm semi-surprised somehow at the quality of your musical taste, but I tend to avoid these sorts of threads I guess.

1. Turn On The Bright Lights - Interpol (2001)
Great album that for some reason I never got around to owning. I have a soft spot for Interpol, I think, because they make me think of what Joy Division might have been like had they started out 25 years later.

Music Has The Right To Children - Boards of Canada - my personal preference over Geogaddi, but I guess that's because it's much more accessible and softer, lacking some of the sinister paranoia present in their earlier work.
It came out in the 90's, but yeah, this is by far their best full-length. It's a toss up between this and Hi Scores as my favorite thing they've ever released.

f♯a♯∞ - Godspeed You! Black Emperor (1998)
Hard to believe this is over 10 years old already. Thinking back to what I was doing when I was into some of these records makes me feel old as shit.
Someone earlier in the thread mentioned Do Make Say Think, which should certainly be on my list instead of shite like Ladytron.

I think you might be missing out a little. Bloodbath represent a different part of metal. The more danceable silly part. I always have a good time when I put them on.
