Actually, you can kill Duty members in that farm house without making the rest hate you. I often stalk the place and headshoot the Duty members that come to sit by the fire and play on a guitar, to get some extra supplies.

That's it, I have to stop playing STALKER till I can turn down the respawning.
I kill a bunch of bandits and go in the sewer in Agropram. 10 minutes later I come back up and the entrance is surrounded by 8 bandits who all instantly open fire.
I don't know why the respawning is so insane, but it both breaks the immersion and makes the whole game feel futile - why kill someone if they instantly come back to life?

Instantly is a bad thing, but if you have time to loot bodies and get out of the area without being attacked; it gives a profit.

That's just it: I don't.
Besides, the weight capacity is so low I can't really drag much around to sell.

I had read about a trick where you can drag bodies around no matter how much loot they have. You could collect all stuff and stash it in a body's loot and then take your time to drag/carry it around.

I thought the weight capacity was just about perfect.
And aside from a few instances (like the manhole being surrounded by bandits) the respawning didn't bother me.

Than doesn't happen very often. Most likely, if you load a previous savegame then go through the manhole again, the bandits won't be there.

That's a good idea, Bjossi - I didn't think of it.
Hard to drag it through enemy territory, but if it's cleared, it's cool.

It's one of those unrealistic things I'd prefer to not get fixed. :p

Well, in the 3rd patch the respawn rate was adjusted, so now it seems about perfect to me.
