D'Arcy, don't kill that cheating stalker yet. In the Bar, the barman gives you a job to remove him, so accept that quest, kill his party and you get a nice reward as a bonus.

Too late. They're all dead. The final gunshot was an exclamation mark to everything that had led to this point. I released my finger from the trigger. And then it was over. ;)
It wasn't the fact that they cheated me that annoyed me (in fact, a Gauss Rifle at this stage wouldn't be very useful, since it would be impossible to get ammo for it). It was the fact that the guy who pointed me to the farm was an injured stalker, whom I saved by giving him a medkit. And then he was there with the group. I should have gotten suspicious when I noticed that, contrary to what is usual, he didn't become my friend after I saved him (still showed up as a yellow dot in the map). At first I thought I could just kill the guy who took the money, but then all the others turned on me, so I killed them all.

Now I'm not sure but I think they can respawn once you take the quest. Funny, huh?

I just finished the whole "Defend Bes" mission. I finish them all off, start talking to Bes - and then they open fire, 20 having suddenly spawned around the area. Bes dies. WTF.
And I don't even have a chance to loot any corpses.

I just found Bes in the Warehouse area. He was near some other stalker that I had to kill, but remained neutral during the ensuing firefight. Afterwards I talked to him, asked him a few questions, and he replied to me as if he were still in the Garbage area (giving me information about buildings there, and radiation in the piles of garbage, and so on).
The other stalker that also fought me (and ended up dead) had the Combat Chaser shotgun :cheeky: I really did miss a lot of stuff during my first run. I've also found a couple of very powerful pistols that I had missed in the first run. The Big Ben has awesome destructive power (too bad about the horrible accuracy).
