And anybody managed to peacefully pass the bridge by bribing the soldiers ?
Not me. It's not my personality to pay myself out of trouble with money, unless I'm buying ammo. But the first time I went there I had a chat with the military guy and refused, after that I just ran past the bridge by running up the hill and sneaking past the military from up there.
That was before I had decent guns, I cleaned the place of military now.

And what I find stranger now is the presence of the military in the Garbage, since I never saw them there on my first run.
They have a bullet with your name on it. :cheeky:

The military likes him for a very special reason. :):p

The military and mercs begin to roam the land after the second mission, Lab 18 I think. Or at least they did in my game.

I remember an attack by the mercs on that camp we start on. And I believe that happened after X18. But this early behaviour by the military looks totally random. I've seen them attacking the bandits at the garbage several times (and when they notice me, then both the bandits and the military come after me).
I guess those three guys I wasted earlier on were pretty popular amongst the soldiers :p

In my game the newbie camp near the Trader in Cordon has been attacked several times by Mercenary faction, and Mercs have made several unsuccesful raids on the Bar and Duty area. Anybody experienced Mercs or any other faction attacking the Bar ?

Rostok has been free of attacks for me, except one guy was hanging out by a level transition. Since killing someone is not allowed there, I just lured the bastard to the nearby guards behind the sandbag-walls.

So guys, what do you think about limiting respawned objects of each type to one unit maximum? Wouldn't it kill atmosphere, or there is enough enemies initially on the maps to enjoy the game without respawn? I'm just thinking should I play further with the limitation or not....

This brings me to another matter though. I've wasted those military buggers at the bridge and there was no retalition, so there.....
Major Kuztnetsov & pals took briberies ;).
I took out those three patrolling soldiers on my second run too and pretty soon there were soldiers running around in Cordon way more often than on my first run. The car park in Cordon has now turned into a small battle between bandits, military veterans and rookie stalkers :cheeky:.

I think it's fun without much respawning, I don't like it if I can hardly loot bodies before I hear gunshots. For example levels like Cordon and Dark Valley have good balance imo.
(though Cordon seems to be problematic for some people)
