omg, this is so damn lame. Anyone ever notice how crappy the colision detection is when trying to navigate cliffs and tight areas? Well i was walking around a smuggler cove and jumping up some planks, realized i hadn't auto saved in a while so i hit F5.. then i noticed i couldn't move from the rope i was on. I jumped ran, snuck, did everything, im friggin TRAPPED ON THE ROPE. my character cant move at all ive tried for 15 mins, this is so gay, my last actual save is from yesterday, i just lost an entire days worth of play, most of which was actually concentraiting on certain atributes for lvling, boaring work that i now have to go back and do again because this game sucks goat dong. man im so PISSED right now

There's a simple fix for when this happens.
Open the console using the tilde key ( ~ ), type in 'fixme' (without quotes) and presto!
You're moved to a nearby spot where you aren't stuck.
Happy rock climbing. ;)

This is the only one I've needed to use.
If only I had known about it earlier... I've been in similar situations such as yours and before, I just gritted my teeth and reloaded. Not fun.
But now I can resume pointlessly wandering through mountain ranges finding absolutely nothing!
I believe typing in 'help' will give you a full list of console commands. Or was it '/help'? Ah, I can't remember. Can anyone confirm?

Key lesson: save often.
you can never have too many save games, and don't overly rely on quick-save.

The command "ra" in console resets all the actors, in other words, puts the npcs back to where they originally were. Sometimes very useful.

Yes, one thing that I have done twice now when not thinking that everyone NEEDS to remember to do.
I play two chars a bit, and switch back and forth quite a bit. If you do play more than one char at a time, make sure to make a savefile other than the quick and autosaves :p
I've probably lost 6 hours of gameplay from not backing up char saves and switching and quicksaving :p
so don't make that mistake like I have done more than once, its such a pain to redo everything, and I know the second time around I've missed a few things I didn't the first time heh. :erg:

open the console, and type:
/fixme
this code will relocate your character 128 units in a random direction, which usually fixes the problem straight off. failing that...... do it again and again - eventually you will become unstuck (btw, 128 units is not very far at all. about 1.5 "steps".

Its good to know about the fixme fix for when this happens. I could have used it many times earlier myself. walking around in the Redoran manor district was always a pain.. narrow rope bridges and guards who like to stand still in the middle of them.. sometimes in groups of 2 or 3. I would always try jumping past them and inevetibaly end up stuck on the ropes.. very annoying indeed.
