Ok thanks all for helping so far I finally managed to finish the game and was considering stating all over. Unless you can sudjest aanother game as good as this one or maybe there is a sequel?
for the most part this was a fun game and had me creeped out in the crypt (still havent found pox's crypt or solved the mystery of the dead woman.
But all in all a very enjoyable game.

A sequel, or perhaps prequel, was the subject of discussion way back before it was announced that Arkane was working on 'Dark Messiah', which looks to be somewhat similar to Arx.
As for other games - assuming you're interested in similar settings and gameplay:
* Arx is often named the spiritual successor to the
Ultima Underworld games. Though the graphics and interface are seriously dated, the gameplay is excellent. So if you haven't played them yet, give them a try.* Also there's
Ultima IX, hated by some because of the enormous amount of bugs in the unpatched versions, and because of diversions from the previous (non-3d) parts of the series. But I have to say I really enjoyed this.* On another front: you could try the
Gothic series. A bit more free roam then Arx is, but they do focus on a good main storyline. Gothic III is expected to be released third quarter this year.* Else, take a look at the
Elder Scroll games, even more focussed on free roam. The recently released Oblivion is quite heavy on the required specs front, but it sure does look the part.
