If you're looking to save money, see my above post (the longer one). A used Dell D600 for $300 will pwn World of Warcraft, if that's still what you're looking to play.
Also remember that widescreen laptops aren't necessarily bigger... Standard sized ones just have the tops of their screens chopped off.
I did a comparison between my laptop (older Thinkpad) and a neighbor's brand-new widescreen, and realized that my screen was just a lot taller. Lots of people buying new laptops though are suckered into thinking that there's something inherently special about widescreens, when really they're getting LESS screen real-estate.
