What are people meant to say instead? "Bad"?
"The police were chasing him for committing a <s>heinous</s> bad crime."
"I tried to watch the remake of that film, but it was <s>atrocious</s> bad."
People use longer words because they more accurately describe something.
In the last hundred years or so, people have been dumbing down the language for the masses! We used to have people who cared about the words they use, now they just try to sell the most copies to casual readers! :mad: :mad: :mad:
