Where is it? After I installed Thief mod I can't talk to no one - when I press Space bar I can only rob them :( So can anyone tell me where do I need to head for Thieves Guild?

You'll hear lots of rumours about the Thieves' Guild; maybe the poor and deprived can tell you more? Or perhaps you could attract the Guild's attention ...
More explicit version:
Read one of the 'Grey Fox' posters, then ask a beggar about him (the beggar's disposition will have to be high, around 70 or so). Alternatively, get caught for a crime (it doesn't have to be stealing), spend some time in jail, then a member of the Guild will seek you out to offer the chance to become a member.
EDIT: by the way, that mod sounds totally stupid if it removes all speech interaction that isn't initiated by NPCs.

Read a poster and steal some stuff you may have to bribe them to get the info you are looking for.{Notice if you are not standing up when you try to talk to people all you will be able to do is pickpocket them so be sure you are standing when you try to talk to them}

No, the mod is perfect.
I was just err......not standing up while trying to talk :o
Anyways,
I got this contest assignment to steal Amantius Allectus's Diary to become a member of Thieves Guild, but when I get into the tunnels through the Amantius Allectus' cellar trap door (which seems to be the right way) the indicator showing my objective changes from green to red :( Is that diary IN THE TUNNELS? Cos' the place is huge and ugly, and I don't feel like wasting time in there if it's not the place...I would've spend as much time as I could exploring the area, but if I don't steal that diary before two other contestants, I'm done
No, it's in his house. If the quest indicator is pointing to the sewers, then Methredhel may have already beaten you to it, as that's her escape route. Check your diary.
EDIT: and you're not necessarily done for, even if that has happened.
EDIT 2: why am I using spoilers? It's the Hints forum.

Done :)
Silly me :)
But... why I never got an assignment? I brought the Diary and was supposed to be given some new quest, I thought, but there were only those 3 Thief rules that showed. No quest. And what does "while you're on the job" means? Does it mean that while I'm not involved with any active quest I can still kill without being excluded from TG community?
And about the job.... How do I get one from the Guild?

Out of curiosity, what happens if you fail to steal the diary, and you fail to get it from Methredhel?
Matthew on 24/6/2006 at 22:21
You're given a 'last chance' quest to steal another person's sword. Edit: and it doesn't move.
And sanity, you're correct, no killing whilst on a TG mission, but you can kill when the Guild is not involved.
As for getting a mission - you've proven your WILLINGNESS to be a member, now you have to display the required SKILL. Go steal a bunch of stuff and sell it to the Guild's fence.

Was very disappointed as I'd tried to sneak past the guard into Bruma gates, but no matter how careful and slow moving I was, he would notice me, though it was night and I was really good hidden. It seems they can sense me however hidden I am, and it doesn't seems to be fair...:(

Hold on, you're sneaking past a gate guard, who's what, a few feet away from the gate, whose orders for the night are DON'T LET SUSPICIOUS TYPES OR DAEDRA THROUGH THAT GATE, and you're suprised that he notices you? :p
Why not try invisibility if you want to do something like that?
