I have a couple of questions about this mod. I've heard it won't work with the D2D version which sucks if it's true. Does anyone know this for a fact?
Also has anyone else tried it? I may just have to pick up a hard copy of it if it really makes the game "thiefy". For example does the mod affect the whole game or just the missions involved in the mod itself?
Appreciate any replies.

How do you mean 'pick up a hard copy'?

I mean I'll physically go to the store and pick up a boxed version of the game. I played OB when it first came out as a sneaky char, however found the stealth unrealistic and started to get bored with it.
Then my hard drive crapped out on me, so after getting a new one never bothered to re-install the game. I recently re-installed it and have been playing as a mage, but will ditch that char in favor of another thief if this mod is what it sounds like.

I don't think that Thieves' Arsenal will get a boxed release though, given that its a mod. EDIT: never mind, I forgot about the D2D comment.

It's not TA specifically, but OBSE.
The D2D executable is encrypted, so it's difficult (and probably illegal) for OBSE to support it.

It affects the entire game. The tools can be used on any existing NPC or creature. They do work differently based on the target - for instance, Argonians are immune to poison, so they're not affected by gas arrows; flying creatures won't slip in oil; only humanoid, breathing creatures can be blackjacked, etc.
There currently are no missions for TA, anyway.
That will change very soon. In addition to randomly generated "odd jobs" quests, you'll get to take part in a storyline featuring 5 to 6 big Thief-style missions.
Certain missions will lead to new tools like climbing gloves and lockjams (for knocking people out and locking them in the closet. :p)
The first of those missions will be released soon.

Thanks for taking the time to answer. (in both forums no less). That's real dedication and I appreciate it. (not to mention creating the mod itself!)
That's really bad news for me. Now I have to decide if it's worth spending another 50 bucks.
I've been trying to play a combo mage/thief type char and it's pretty tough the way stealth is incorporated in the game.
As much as I'd like to play your mod, do you know of any other stealth mods that may be worth adding to the D2D version?
Or maybe you could somehow make it compatible with it?
Nah, I'm just busting ya.

JOG's Stealth Overhaul makes it easier to hide in combat and tweaks the stealth system.
Vaults of Cyrodiil adds treasure vaults to all of the castles.
Reneer's Guard Overhaul completely revamps the crime system with disguises, regional bounties (guards in Chorrol won't know about crimes you committed in Bravil), and more realistic guard behavior.
Grumblepunk's Lockpicks lets you craft lockpicks out of ordinary metal clutter like tongs and shears.
I think all of them are available at TESSource.

Stealth Overhaul's quite nice. It tweaks sneaking to make it nigh-impossible in heavy armour, apparently makes restealthing possible (not sure if that's true yet, as my new character hasn't got a high enough stealth score to avoid notice successfully to begin with), and tweaks the backstab multipliers by weapon type - daggers are king when attacking from stealth, shortswords are pretty good, and heavier weapons tend to be underwhelming (but, of course, much handier in a straight fight). I like it... especially with a Bound Dagger spell handy. :D

Maybe Ryushi should add those mods to the mods list thread

While we're on the subject of questions and the Thief Arsenal mod, is it normal for Basso not to have a torso? :p
