I've been experimenting with crazybump, and I may rerelease the texture pack with improved normal maps.

THAT would be just GREAT! Please, do it!
Your colors are so tasty that I began experiments with aristocrat's original cloths to force them suite your textures.:)

I got some done. Plenty to go.
I still like making textures better than normal maps.

In fact I didn't think these subtle NMs were so wrong. A lot of the real ones - and sometimes even those of John-P - make e.g. brick walls look quite artificial with too much 3D effect.
Much more useful would however be a matlib for all these. Massimiliano is already working on it as he told me.

Actually, you might need to hurry. Crazybump has just become v. 1.02, so it means it's commercial. 30-day trial and it's over, unless you have 100 bucks.

I still have one of the latest BETA setup files, might this work with a cut-off internet connection or is there some timer built in?

Never tried that way, the latest version has a built in timer, previous ones just stopped working after a certain date.

I just found out about the 30-day thing. I'll try to see what I can do. The gold series can't go as it is because of the faux specular shading, so I will have to crack open the source files.

I remade most of the normals, and unburned the 3d from the diffuse maps.
I redid one the green hatch texture.
I may make a few more textures.

...and turn them into *.dds, get someone to create a matlib for them linking to the BrendaEM folder and everything's fine.
Ah, one thing: You had some complicated copyright thingy included the last time, wouldn't it be enough to mention your nickname in th GL readme? I mean, nothing will happen anyway.
