Maybe all of you accusing us of "whining" should read the Eidos boards, writeups/reviews of the demo from some of the major web sites, and general opinions from around the web. We're not the only ones criticizing what we see. You guys are the ones in the minority.
In fact, the only overly positive comments I've seen about New Thief have come from GenGaming and the thread on the official boards detailing when all the Eidos moderators went to E3 to play the game. Great company there.

a competent answer to a question about the inspiration for the story is expecting too much.
I find his answer perfectly straightforward. He correctly outlined garrett's background and personality, and explained that he tried to put himself in Garrett's shoes when determing what Garrett would do. In other words, his inspiration is ... *
shock* ... Garrett's personality from the earlier games!
Honestly, I think the only reason you're getting tied up on the animation statement is that you've become used to looking for the negative in everything EM says, you've jumped on the animation angle and tried to twist into something bad, and not surprisingly you've come up with something that doesn't make any sense. But it's a simple non-controversial statement! His first involvement with Garrett occured while working with the animation team! Is that so hard to believe?

You find it
straightforward?? I can see making the case that I'm interpreting it too negatively, but I can't see how you could say the answer is anything other than a garbled mess of abstractions. It's word salad.

You obviously haven't seen my recent comments about how I think that this is looking worse and worse.
Oh, you have and instead of reacting normally to it you accused me of being just as knee-jerk reactionary as the rest of you idiots, because you're too frikking dumb and impatient to wait for solid info that is suggestive of this being a mess-up, like I did.
I think this game will be a failure, but not for all the little whiny bits of bs you, Spring, Goldmoon, etc jump on. Of course I interpret things and I don't expect you or anyone else not to. But it's the result of that interpretation that makes people think you are nuts.
For the record Brethren I don't think you're nuts. I think your analytical skills are lackoh sod it you're a bit daft.

Right, your criticisms of the game are the only valid ones. And the people who made them before you did were dumb and impatient. It's all making sense now.

Pot, meet kettle.

It's funny to see how pretty much everything we've been saying before are, in the end, true in some way thanks to both the videos at E3 and the various hands-on, both from EM moderators and other sources. And yet some of you still don't believe this game is a disgrace.
Springheel on 28/6/2013 at 15:01
Just for the record, I didn't start this thread saying the game was going to be a disgrace, or that the story would be terrible, or that the game was a failure. I just said I that I heard nothing in the video that sounded reassuring, and several things that sounded disappointing.
If other people interpret the video differently, more power to them; the delivery certainly leaves room for interpretation.
But I do find it amusing how some people can admit to being disappointed with things they hear about the game, yet still criticize others for expressing their own disappointment.

SE, you're just egotistical enough to always think I'm talking about you.

Go up to the Thief 4 Article Index, conveniently stickied at the top of this forum, and read through some of the E3 impression articles. Rock Paper Shotgun, The Escapist, Sneaky Bastards, etc. They're saying the same things we are. These are well-known, prominent sites, with solid readership, not a bunch of hacks.
Then again, you probably think they're all nuts too and you're far above their level of "interpretation."
And let's leave GMD out of this, he has his own little plateau of crazy that I don't think applies to any of us here.

OK...thanks? I think I'd be more comfortable if you actually thought I
was nuts.

I think Independence Day is a bad film.
I don't think its a bad film because it has a Jew and Black guy in it.
It's this utter, utter logic failure that marks you guys out.
