Im enjoying "tracker" immensely, but then city mission were always my favourite.

For me, the crash-on-save seemed to be linked to the spawning of the last group of guards, as when I removed them completely from the map and re-played, the save worked fine. However, I know that others have experienced the crash long before triggering the final guards, so I wonder if there is an issue with varying system memory sizes that limits the amount of active AI or patrol paths in a mission?
I launched directly to "Framed", ran about a bit and saved a few times. It didn't crash for me, but I'm quite sure it's the same thing as with the other mission, the dreaded "property storage count" limit.
Not having even lockpicks I couldn't do much. Even then, after four saves the game was at 99 % of the limit. I guess people entering the mission with a full inventory would crash pretty soon.

Anyway, my remedy to this problem is going to have to be a partial re-build of this mission, possibly reducing the size of the final city area. And re-thinking the zone portals for the middle section.
You might want to talk to Beleg Cúthalion about what's the most effective way to fix it. He has some experience with this limit...
The great atmosphere at the start of "Framed" gave me an urge to start at the beginning :thumb: But I guess it's better to wait for 2.0 at this point.
Beleg Cúthalion on 15/7/2012 at 08:52
For a version 2.0 we'd probably also have German language support. Gnartsch seemed a bit overwhelmed when I asked him to have a look but maybe we can combine forces.
The infamous property storage count...well, I still hope snobel finds a way to push the limit but this is still in the experimental stage. I never had the feeling that just deleting objects would help, it always seemed to me that the sort-of "defrag" functionality to re-distribute used-but-freed properties was deficient. But who knows, maybe it works for you. In the worst case, make loading zones (alas!) or a new mission, since this is already a campaign.
snobel on 15/7/2012 at 10:39
The limit can be pushed up safely by 6-7 %, which would probably be enough for this mission. This is something the T3 devs wanted to do for the editor release, but never got around to.
The experimental part is messing with a sort of garbage collection, which happens during normal playing, but is suspended during saving. This fix seems to work for the "Gold" (no loading zones) version of the Cradle, that Beleg is working on, but it needs more testing to show merit in the general case. Which is why I was interested in savegames, but there's a better way of testing it, so never mind. :)
Both fixes will be in the next version of the Upgrade, even if it turns out to benefit only the Cradle Gold.

UPDATE: I've reloaded from an earlier save before I got the "sequence" wrong and I've pretty much caught up. However, you should read what I discovered so you can add it to the list of bugs for Mission 5.
Namely: ensure that you cannot just mantle past the statues
====
Have a question about Mission 5. I want to know of this is normal, or if it is a bug and I need to start over/reload:
I found the "tracer lens" in the mage sister's lab and took it. Then the objective "..find a lens" was checked off.
Then later on, I read a book in the brother mage's study where he described all his potions, and the lens objective was cleared with "Objective Incomplete".
Is this normal operation and the objective will check again after I do something, or is there a problem?
EDIT: Ok, I think I see what the problem is. The question is, am I screwed or can I still complete the mission:
Apparently, I'm supposed to perform a ritual in order to move past the stone guardians and access the sister's lab. However, I was simply able to mantle over the statues and access the area. So I visited there first and got the lens WITHOUT doing any ritual.
So I guess what I'd like know is Can I go through the motions of doing the ritual and getting past the statues and then have the lens objective tick off automatically because I have it already?
I'm surprised that no-one else noticed that you just mantle over the statues. I didn't have to try very hard --- it did it on the first try
Ha! Every attempt I made to mantle over the statues failed. I have added it to the list of bugs. Thank you.
Unfortunately you are going to have to start the mission over, sorry. :(

The note is in reference to the gaping hole in the wall of the building above the pagan docks, where you entered this area. It has nothing to do with the objectives and is just there to explain the hole.
Many people before you have made the assumption that this is the other thief's lair, but it is just a random persons home.

The TDS engine is the biggest pile of stinking shit I have ever had the displeasure of enduring, its beyond annoying when the player can't even run up a set of bloody stairs with out getting stuck on some bloody invisible object. TDM has none of these issues, christ not even T2 is this bad...
How the hell is the player supposed to ring both bells and get the bloody dagger before the spell times out...???!!!! I have rung the left bell and ran down and then get stuck on the steps trying to run up to the right bell. Then I ran down from the right bell and the protection spell around the dagger times out before I even got out of the church...!!!
[update]Never mind, I've quite frankly had enough of being frustrated with this game engine and this mission. Both are being uninstalled.

Run around the outside of the steps, against the wall. Don't know why those stupid steps do that!
