Did KISS ever wear hoods like that? Because that's more of a black metal thing, and black metal bands sure loved their corpsepaint.

In short they've made him Boba Fett
Maybe they want to turn Garrett into this guy:

Truly, I would not mind the OPTION of having to jump around buildings and being able to commit murder in fantastic ways. The design does not bother me, though I miss the old tunic thing that Garrett wore in TDP. I'd rather he not be too angsty. He's pushing 40 or 50 by this point, no?

He's wearing the corset like old middle-aged celebs wear Spanx.

I don't know his age was ever told. We don't know when is a good time for retirement for thieves, either...:)

I don't know, but I do know that we have some thieves here who are over 65.

He was in his early twenties when he left the Keeper Order (TDS), and stormed out of his Acolyte graduation ceremony (TDP/TDS). By the time we see him outside Bafford's he's been around long enough to make several acquaintances and set up with fences, but still hadn't gotten his lockpicks. It's inferred more than once that Basso picked locks for him, and after Cragscleft, Garrett took the task on himself, and got even better after helping Basso a second time with Jenivere. The cutscenes never show him looking that old, though
some concept art has him looking around 50. It's getting harder to track down the source info, but the devs and promo materials told us how long each game's story played out over and how much time passed between games, not even adding up to ten years overall.
TDP/Gold gave the year as '34, in both the Bafford and Thieves' Guild ledgers.
Ten years ago, we had a taffer in his 80s.
Author Terry Pratchett is/was a Thief fan and asked Nightfall and others for help with FMs!
Just yesterday, a gentleman here gave his age as 72.
There have been several shared stories of 4-to-11-year-olds seeing/playing Thief for the first time and being scared out of their wits until they got older, and it stuck with them, so they tried it again and were hooked.
As theBlackman has oft noted, people generally play Garrett as their own age, and yeah, people bring a lot of themselves to the game, of course.

It'll be interesting to see how people might eventually mod Garrett's skin, and maybe mesh, and maaaaybe animations.
The anti-gimpy ghoulie girly greebly Gothic Mr. Garrett.
