Why the mollycoddling? If someone talks crap they should be fair game.
Debate the issues. Keep your personal views about posters out of it.

Does anyone else have their not-sure-if-english-a-second-language-or-just-retarded face on here a lot or is it just me.

Sorry Pavlov, but this ain't okay. And I'm minded to say that as a member of this community, whatever that's worth, I don't find it acceptable.

Good Lord.
Goldmoon, dethtoll's description of you is pretty much on the money. I don't think you can get help for what you've got though
It hardly matters. If there was even half-hearted concern for someone's mental health or well being - parading it publicly on an internet games forum (one with a perfectly good PM feature) isn't what you do with it. Let's not bullshit - that had nothing to do with genuine concern and everything to do with Dethy trying to 'win at Internet' by denigrating and demeaning his 'opponent' in as vile and insulting a way as came to mind. It was nothing more and nothing less than bullying. Cheered on by you. It's not okay.
It's not what TTLG is for. It's an insult to the forum's hospitality. It's an insult to other members' patience and good will. Take some time out and maybe come back if and when you want to talk about Thief.
One last thing. As far as I know, as long as folk are here in good faith then they've every bit as much right not just to have their opinion but also to voice it - same as anyone else. And if it's a bit long winded or nuts - I'll cope. If that's not the case let me know and I'll be outa here.

Well here we come up against a problem; what is "in good faith"?
Does a depressive try to kill themselves in good faith? Does a schizophrenic coat a room in tin foil in good faith? Does someone with OCD wash their hands 20 times in good faith? Does someone with a personality disorder post in a forum based on some pathological view of their role in the existence and development of a game series in good faith? Does an ignorant person argue about a comic book character's motivation in good faith?

The early Ultimas and Wizardries had a natural rivaly, both friendly and sometimes not so. Might and Magic entered the picture, and shortly thereafter the LGS folks came on board, along with the many faithful clones. Those early days of gaming were often combined with real life role playing, you know tabletop. We were characters suspending disbelief to its fullest, and as such spoke in a manner that suggested we understood the fantasy worlds presented to us. LGS took these classic ideals right from their founders hands and delivered them back with the thunderous clap that was Thief: The Dark Project. The majestic pinnacle of the combined effort of the classic computer role playing games, and also as it turns out, the signal of the end of the classic era. You, for whatever reason (even though I am on record through the years saying it clearly) cannot see that I am speaking in character, like a role playing game, while *cough* posting on a fantasy board about a fantasy game. I havent the slightest clue why you hang around, picking on me of all people, trying to prove something about yourself and not the legacy of one of the most powerful and enigmatic companies ever to grace home computing. I am just Goldmoon Dawn from the old Might and Magic boards, back when video game boards ran rampant with fanatics.

Jay, I did see that post, but, if you notice, the posting time is the same as the time on my post. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't see my post before he posted his own because he was still typing. By all means, do feel free to let me know directly if I miss anything. Mean-spirited comments about other posters will not be tolerated in the Thief forums.

So... if this brooding eyeshadow-wearing laced-up-in-tight-black-clothing version is the toned down Garrett... what was he like before?

More arrogant and with black nail polish, and if the proportions of the trailer storyboard are accurate, even more Nosferatu-like.
