You go straight for the personal attacks
For the first time in 12 years here. You are everyday, whats your excuse? My only problem with the dethtoll persona is that normally you clutter up gengaming and commchat, why are you spilling over into Thief Forums, where you clearly dont belong. You dont belong because you never contribute *anything* worthwhile about Thief. And when you rarely do offer up your monumental knowledge on Thief it is only to do damage control in situations similar to this!

You're still doing it. You go for the personal attacks because you view me as a threat. You've done it outside of Thiefgen, too, completely unwarranted.
I've given you some US-based resources for mental health services. If I guessed wrong as to your nationality, I'm sorry. I'm just trying to help.
I'm going to disengage from this now -- just remember, help is available for you. Talk to someone before you hurt yourself or others.

You know, there is a feature on TTLG for sending personal messages.

Knock it off. Now. Bring it back on topic.

Good Lord.
Goldmoon, dethtoll's description of you is pretty much on the money. I don't think you can get help for what you've got though
As regards Catwoman and Garrett, yeah I'm seriously asking. Don't you know me by now? Sheesh.
Anyways, I always thought Garrett did it for pure cash and because he knows he's frugging good at it. I thought Catwoman did it partly because she likes shiny things.

Subjeff send me a PM or IM me on Steam or something, I'll break it down for you there -- this thread is a trainwreck and I'm not interested in incurring mod wrath by continuing to argue about it here.

Well I'd actually like other people's input into this too, and is about Garrett's changing character.
I've never thought of Garrett as akin to Catwoman and the only reason I can think why that would be is I'd made some arbitrary gender divide in my mind because when I think about it now it seems pretty obvious.
And I'm not actually sure whether you should class her as good or bad. I know that division of characters into little boxes is pretty short sighted in some ways but you would say Batman is good and The Joker is bad. I know people like to use d and d classifications these days but meh to that.

Catwoman has been mostly neutral, leaning good. She's only ever painted as a villain during the Silver Age -- but modern Catwoman is very morally ambiguous, preferring not to hurt people if she can help it but not ashamed of robbing people blind, preferably the rich and snooty. Much like Garrett, she steals mostly for the challenge, with great skill -- possibly the best -- and she has clear crises of conscience (actually, if you have the Catwoman DLC for Arkham City, there's a really clear example of what I mean.) The only time this changes is when she shifts her focus in Volume 3 (Post-Crisis continuity, in this case running from 2002-2008) from professional cat burglar to neighborhood guardian -- sort of playing Batman to the hookers and street kids of Gotham.
The Joker comparison was bollocks from day one, and that's what I've been trying to get at here. It's hard to say much about the new Garrett's character with so little information, though, but I sincerely doubt he'll be anything like the Joker.

Arguing about Catwoman vs. Joker is fine. Just leave off insulting other posters.

Why the mollycoddling? If someone talks crap they should be fair game.
I never got around to playing the Catwoman DLC but I'm gong to replay BAA sometime so I'll get it then.
I'd argue that although Catwoman seems "good" she's still bad because she's a thief. Garrett is an awful person, despite saving the City several times.
