Thief2X with Steam version?

I am completely lost in this thread. But I do have the exact same issue, with the CD prompt popping up whenever I try to run Shadows of the Metal Age.

To clarify, I can run Thief 1 fan missions through darkloader. I cannot play thief 2 fan missions, or Shadows.

Does this thread walkthrough exactly what I need to do to fix this? Sorry, I'm completely illiterate in terms of code/ files.

this should correct your install paths (among other things), and hopefully fix the issue.

Okay, so I can get Thief2X running, but as I mentioned before, if i change gamma, even with that fix from Jawless, my colors turn to awful greens and pinks... does anyone have any idea why? It's mostly in areas where there are shadows.

unless you are already running T2x as FM, you will have to install (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141148) NewDark into the T2x folder and launch it from there.

Thanks much! that worked! The only other issue i have is that i get stuttering every few seconds or so, does anyone have any idea why that happens?

Could you tell us about your hardware and os please ?
laptop or integrated intel graphics perhaps ?
We need specifics please.

Sorry for not replying in a while, internet connection has been down since I moved back home from university. :(

When I download the link you sent, it just opens up a separate note. Where do I copy and paste in order to fix T2X?

Voodoo sent a link to help me, but I have no idea where to place this. This is most likely due to my illiteracy, more than anything else.
