Guys, Dromed works fine (or as well as the game does on a given system). Read what I said in the other thread.

DromEd is unusable with DDFix, last I checked. And editing without being able to check what your work look like . . . :eww:

How do you mean? Game mode not working with ddfix? I got it to work in Shocked at least.

Mainly, DromEd is broken when you come back from game mode.
Not as much of an issue with ShockEd since the mission is broken once you enter game mode and you generally want to quit and reload ShockEd before continuing, but very annoying in Thief 2 DromEd where game mode works properly -- or if you want to check the results of your actions in the editor after returning from game mode in SS2.

Oh right. Is this just the window thing or is there more to it?
Nameless Voice on 20/12/2007 at 18:17
I can't quite remember, to be honest. I seem to recall the editor window being stuck in the top-left corner of the screen, the menus vanishing, being stuck in always-on-top mode, and possibly some kind of oddities on returning to game mode.

Is there ANY pci-e graphics card AT ALL that gives proper graphics with Thief 2 but also shows fog as it should? With out having resort to this fix.

Yes, a few actually, but the best card for Thief as voted by fellow taffer's and me (as I have one) is the PCX5900/5950, they offer the best performance while provide 100% compatability with thief. The trouble is over here in the UK they are rare, took me a few months of waiting and searching ebay untll I found one, got it for £15 in the end. Also you could use a PCX5750, but they are just as rare.
Thief actually looks better on the 5900 using the original exe than it does using the ddfix exe on the 8800gtx. The colours are better and the image is clearer.
My Nec 20wgx2pro has dual inputs so I am able to use the 5900 alongside my 8800. I use a util called 'Ultramon' to on the fly change which, 5900 for thief and 8800 for everything else. But be aware this dual card approach only works in Xp, Micro$oft have seen fit to disable these ability in vista. What ever I tried, vista would not renable the 5900 when installed with the 8800 along side - it should enable both cards, but this is yet another F'ing vista bug.....

I still have the following:

They now sit in their retail boxes, to this day, just because I needed a new MB and that meant a new 8800GT/X pci-e
What a sacrifice indeed..
