Not if you've got a 2900, as that apparently has the same rendering problems as Nvidia now.
but its not as bad on the Ati 2x00 cards as it is on the nVidia 8x00 cards

I have quickly "read" this whole thread, but just in case I missed something, apparantly this fix breaks fog? So isn't this the same old trade-off between Nvidia and ATI again?
I'm excited about this fix, truly I am (no joke), but I'm afraid I won't use it until fog works, sorry

Afternoon taffers
Just for kicks I put my PCX5900 back in my rig and load up vista, here are the results...
8800GTX(PCI-E Slot1) & PCX5900/FX5200(PCI-E Slot2) - WinVista
1. This no longer works under Vista, and the icing on the cake, 163.xx nvidia drivers and onwards no longer have support for any Geforce cards lower than Geforce 6 series. I did manually install older 95.xx series drivers on the FX but vista was having non of it, the card remained disabled.
This would explain why Gillie and other's cant get two different nVidia cards to work under vista. Yet another 'feature' to be added to the list for the crapola that is vista...

I just want to thank Timeslip for this fix. I just edited my sshock2.exe to point to the new dll and now the game looks great. I'll be replaying the game when I have the time. The last time I was in the mood, this fix wasn't out yet and with a game that relies on light and shadow, the dithering was unacceptable to me. I did back up the original exe in case any bugs show up once I really get into the game.
if it helps anyone, the offset seems to be: 002b1140

I was getting a strange stuttering in Shock2 after I hexed the exe for Timeslip's patch. Updating to newest NV beta drivers (169.21) fixed it up though.

Would be awsome if there was some way to fix fog for 8800 gtx users, gunna google for some tweak programs and see if i get lucky.

Yeah I have gotten that with nearly all versions of the DDFix, I shall try that out over the weekend..

In addition to DDFIx performance, please let us know if 169.21 plays T1 without a crash. Or was that never a problem with the 8000 series? I forget... It
is a problem with the 7000 series, but recent drivers seem to have cured it.

T1 never had an issue with the 8x00 series due to the way it does it dithering in the shadows... And I fired up T1 the other day and it works fine on the vey latest nvidia beta driver, I think we have gone beyond 169.21.

Hey, I applied the patch, works great! :thumb: (Except that the mouse flickers and lags in menu if I don't set AA to 16x :weird: meh, whatever)
Anyway, is there a fix for DromEd yet, as it still looks ugly?

Hi there
You need a beefier system for this patch, on lower systems it can lag and jerk a bit and it seems to do different things for different people. Ive not been keeping upto date with all the bugs, but that is a new one on me.
Unfortunatley there isnt a fix for dromed and I dont think there ever will be at this point in time as Timeslip (the chap who came up with the fix) has done all he is going to.
The only other fix is the Dual card approach (I am running a 8800GTX and PCX5900) but this only works in Windows Xp - wont work in vista.
