Thief Save Editor by John Hensley
I have used this for years as it allows me to play in a kill-all guards mode. When I try to use it on my win 7 (64-bit) machine nothing happens. It still works fine under XP so this must be a compatibility problem!
Incidentally I am currently clearing the decks so that I can upgrade to win 10.
Does anyone have any idea how to get Thief2Edit working under Win 7?
What experience do taffers have with using Win 10?

It's working just fine on Win 7/64 bit. Try to start it as administrator.
btw, for anyone who doesn't know, this is a cheating tool that came with the KOMAG DVDs. I don't know where to download it.

Well, I wish you luck in your upgrade. The Thief games all work as expected. And most modern machines are compatible with Windows 10.
Although I, personally, have not had the greatest time with Microsoft's newest opererating system. I suppose my machine was not modern enough. After my "upgrade" my system wouldn't boot. I was lucky I still had my Windows 7 install disc.

I almost feel inclined to start a contest to see if anyone can find something relevant that clearing doesn't have. :)

Thanks for the replies - still no go. I changed the shortcut to "run as administrator" but nothing happens when I double-click it. Incidentally how do I switch to administrator role (presumably the machine sees me as a User until told otherwise?).
The FMs are located under Program Files (x86). Could there be a problem there? I tried moving them to the Games folder without any benefit (in fact it messed up the FM selector).
Still puzzled over this one!

I wouldn't store FMs or Thief in a protected folder.
The tool is looking for savegames and it's trying to modify it. So don't keep it there.
This is an old program. It's working under XP. So my guess is that there's something missing which I have, but you don't. I remember that I had to register COMDLG32.OCX recently in Win7 in order to run 3dstobin.
But I don't really know what's missing on your rig.
Is there a release thread for this tool?

Wasn't there something like Darkhooks(?) which also had some cheat options like fly?
