Yeah what they're doing with the story is quite peculiar. They're writing it as a sequel, taking for granted most of the events that happened during the previous games, but still distancing themselves by changing the tone, nature of the city and character personalities while selling it as a reboot. In other words, they are allowing themselves to take whatever they want from the original games without being tied down by what they don't like from the rest of the lore. A bit disrespectful, if you ask me. Make your mind.
Also, the writing is still bad.
- Something's not right... It's too dangerous.... And you're not ready yet.

Considering the fact that it's a reboot, I am not expecting the same old Garrett, so it does not bother me that he is a bit different now. In terms of this, I have to say I enjoyed this trailer and cannot wait to play the game.

Yeah that was my choice 2 but I couldn't make sure with my dirty foreign ears. Still, the characters -- including Garrett -- don't really articulate well, do they?

I have to admit, this is the first trailer/teaser that didn't make me cringe. That looks potentially interesting.

Yeah, this is the first bit of anything they've released that's piqued my interest.
I guess 'set sometime between Thief 2 and Deadly Shadows' thing wasn't true. The idea that Garrett would just go straight back to thieving after becoming The One True Keeper is funny to me (and training the girl to be a thief instead of a Keeper). The old lady's dialogue implies that the Keepers themselves are still kicking around, even after all the power being taken out of the glyphs.
