(
http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/ichpsc/thief-vgx-2013--world-premiere-trailer) Here's the trailer, which contains several new plot elements and gameplay footage to dissect.
Important facts to bring up:
-Brothers of the Awakened(possibly the replacements for the Pagans and Hammerites?)
-Erran(NuGarrett's seemingly-dead partner in crime). Falls from the roof, into some kind of magical portal. Perhaps she ended up in an alternate dimension/will become this reboot's version of the Trickster?
-Some mysterious old woman, acting as a guide(Keeper-like character) for NuGarrett. Quoted from the trailer: 'Your city needs you Garrett.' :eww:
-A random guard talking to someone(NuGarrett?) that he doesn't have to risk his neck to save the city.
-At the end of the trailer, there's a quick shot of some random creature(zombie or something worse?)

At the very least, this trailer proves me right. Magic being downplayed doesn't mean they've taken magic out of the game entirely.
...and what do you know, we've got a great big magic portal.
Edit: If you pause it at just the right moment after "there are worse things in the shadows than you", you've got what looks like a zombie, or at least some hairless, pale, dead looking thing.

That doesn't even look bad, better than the (English) Basso trailer in any case.

-Erran(NuGarrett's seemingly-dead partner in crime).
She's spelled Erin as far as I know.

This is Basso and I like that he says "no one pays you to...".

Well, that didn't look too bad. The music disappointments me though, it's just way too generic "epic" orchestral music that doesn't really fit Thief, but hopefully it's just something that they've chosen to use in this trailer and not in the game itself. And I bet that Erin doesn't really die since she falls right into middle of that ritual circle thingy. :p

Cons: Music way too epic. More action then in other trailers. Some of the dialogue regarding Erin was bit iffy.
Pros: Apart from a few Erin related lines, the dialogue was much better then the other cinematic trailers. (Which is good because it seems likely that some of those scenes are pretty similar to scenes we'll see in the game.) Something much like a zombie at the end. Some large ominous magic related threat seems likely to be a central plot device.
Overall nothing really surprising. Confirmed there is something undead-like, but we had a pretty strong suspicion that would be the case already. Nice to see though.

I'm afraid I didn't really like it that much. The dialogue may have been better but it wasn't particularly easy to hear. The old dear and Basso were reasonably clear but Erin was whiney and Garrett needs to enunciate more. I also didn't much like the music, too 'epic' as has been said, and I think it's fairly typical of today that it's too loud in relation to the speech. Or maybe it isn't too loud and they're just mumbling away.

Heh. Anything is a step up from that Basso trailer. But yeah, I liked this. Even the music. :)

I don't like it. Overly dramatic and bombastic. NuGarrett is actually Jack Bauer.

Great trailer. Interesting gameplay, good lines and some drama in the story gives high hopes for this title.
...And it would be brilliant with Stephen Russell voice...:erm:

Well, if that was the first thing I saw about the new Thief I'd figure that this was a continuation of the Thief series not a new imagining. He starts out with a apprentice thief, who's sounds like the kid he met at the end of Thief 3. An old lady talks like a Keeper telling him to save the city. He cares more then he lets on digging himself deeper into whatever those Wizards/Brothers/unnamed religious sect were doing with that book with the Metal Gear on it. New voice guy is trying to impersonate Stephan, kinda similar to how they got someone else to voice Batman in the Arkham Origins game.
Yea, I know its not. I liked the trailer even if it was bombastic, Thief 3's trailer was about the same. Although I thought the neck snapping part was a bit extreme and I'm not sure how fine I am with the auto looking takedowns (Although Dues Exes was fine). Guess I better watch the extended version.
