I wonder how they feel about all the negativity and slating of much of the trilogy? How do we know they wouldn't be in here arguing against those of us love TDP and TMA more than TDS? I do appreciate the marketing of showing the TDP imagery over and over, but it's marketing. I want to believe!

They probably don't think much.
Because that has never happened.

You know what; you piss me off. You and your true fan cult act like you're the keepers of some secret fan knowledge but I call bs.
I'm a bigger fan than you guys because I can tell you exactly what makes Thief a good game, with game being the important word, and also exactly what Thief 3 did right and wrong with the gameplay.
You frothers can't think clearly for long enough not type coherently enough to convey these things, and I'll wager you don't even know what the real differences are.

Subjective Effect, I find your white-knight attitude highly irritating. We're not in the RPS comment section where you can always count on someone adding depth to your short dismissals with everything being forgotten the second it is posted.
I have nothing against dismissing peoples' opinions with ad hominems when more interesting, ad hoc arguments are scattered through mocking diatribe, Old Man Murray-style, but that's a thing you only have the liberty to do once and be done with it rather than harassing others without any form of intelligent rebuttal, of which you seemingly don't have the capacity.
jtr7's way with words can clearly be problematic but instead of trying to understand how he sees things and in what way you can interact with him to form a coherent disagreement, you keep and keep "calling bs". He obviously has spent a lot of time studying the games. So much time in fact, that it's your potential counterpoint right there: over-analyzing things might have made him somewhat blind to the original intents of the developers. In some cases where he sees something deep at the core of the original games, it might just have been an accident, an element that LGS might have added while not knowing they what were doing. An element you perceived differently.
But no, you're single-handedly pulling the forums down, and that's not something you can do with blind, Thief-centric optimism or pessimism alone, that's something you do because you constantly attack others with pseudo-enlightened, hateful one-liners. There are much worse pessimists than jtr7 here, such as vH or yours truly but they don't receive the same bile from you because... what exactly? A single glance at your posting history in the Thief 4 forum paints a pretty harsh picture.

Yes, my rebuttals (White Knighting, add you like call it) of things like this

are clearly much more irritating than the statement I'm rebutting.
A statement, I hasten to add, that has no basis in reality - where is this slating and negativity of "much" of the Thief trilogy? Oh, there isn't any, what a surprise. Your POV is totally logical.
Hint: it isn't.
My postings in the Thief 4 forum are absolutely informed by my knowledge of the nutcases I'm dealing with. Why should I apologize for rebutting crazy points of view?
Add to vanH; he has no redeeming qualities and is just a ball of unreachable hate so I don't bother. Jtr and Goldmoon at least like something.

Yeah, I'm scratching my head over this one too.
I browse many other forums too and I see positive comments all day long, with only a few negative.

I dont want to speak out of turn, but why is it ok for certain people to continually refer to others here as nutjobs and suggest over and over that they need serious professional help, but another person cant suggest that that same person finds a girlfriend?
SubJeff on 21/3/2013 at 22:26
Because when you come out with things like that ridiculous jtr quote in my last post you're earmarking yourself as a nutjob.
And when you point out that the quote is ridiculous you are being truthful and correct and wonderfully logical.
