New interview with Daniel Grayshon and Josh Dowell from Nightdive. They talk a lot about Thief but also do a bit of a history of Looking Glass.

They mention a few interesting things about the remaster.
Apparently the lighting will be higher resolution, with less stairstepping in the shadows. They talked about adding coloured lighting, as in Thief 2, but said that it changed the look of the game too much.
With EAX they've implemented the ability for different reverb types to blend between rooms, so there's no more abrupt transitions between different reverb types (they did say this was disableable).
Since a lot of Thief sounds come from stock sound libraries, they were able to source the original sounds and reimplement them at a higher resolution. They mentioned how great lockpicking sounds in high res.
The cutscenes are being remade by artists with the assistance of Dan Thron.

Yeah I'm listening to the DF Retro episode now. Great stuff, really gets into the nitty gritty of how the Dark Engine works.
Maybe this is all old news to folks who have spent a lot of time with DromEd etc but it's new to me.

It's so soothing listening to knowledgeable people talk about something that you love. I don't understand all the tech stuff, but when they were talking about the depth of the simulation and the lack of jankiness in the AI and stealth, I was thinking; yes, you can feel it! It's what makes Thief special.
Also, that bit about the early build of Thief where the guards say things like, "I saw something. I am at alert state 2": they should include that as a bonus mode.

Oh yes! Did I dream it or did Karras' children ever have lines like "this line indicates that the machine has seen something"? Or was that in some FM? Or some other game entirely? (Dishonored?) Anyway I was reminded of that when they talked about the debug voice lines.
