First of all, forgive my english. I'm trying my best.
Greetings, i've read a lot and a lot in so many threats in this forum. Before you advise me or judge me, yes, I did use the search buttom to look for my problem.
My problem is that I can't play Thief TDP. My PC is a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+, my graphic is NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS 512mb, 2 Gb RAM, Windows XP sp3. Mmm, need more specs?
I tried everything. When I run Thief: The Dark Project v 1.33 with the directx fix, I start the trainning and it workd for a few seconds, and it give me an error (that common error in windows XP for clicking on "Dont send" -error report-). If i don't move Garrett, it works for a few seconds more, the moment I step forward it crash.
I hope you understand my funny english =P please help me to fix it and keep wasting my time playing this lovely game

I did it. I changed the afinity, and the thing of the processor.bat, I tried both and didn't work =(
Maybe (I don't think so) I'm doing wrong, but... I don't think so =P that's so simple. The processor.bat is the same thing I did for play Thief 3.
What else can I do? =(

It's not an elegant solution, but if you've room for a Linux partition then Thief 1 and 2 run well using a free software package called (
http://www.winehq.org/) Wine, and Thief 3 too with a little bit of work. Linux is getting pretty handy as a platform for running Legacy games.
It does sound like a multi-threading hang though - maybe double check...

It did not work on Thief: The Dark Project =( (But it did work on Thief 2: The Metal Age =D )

It seems to me that the root of your problem with TDP is in incorrect DDFix patching. First, please try to run TDP without DDFix. If this will be ok, then try to apply DDFix.

Thief just installed without any patch was the first thing I did.
Mmm, when I tried to patch 1.33, the patcher always give me an error that says "Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match." I thought my installation could be damaged, and I tried with the copy of a friend, and it happened the same. Is there a way to patch the game manually? Maybe it helps.
Why don't Eidos realease a definitive and absolute Thief win XP patch? T.T
Thanks for reading me (with my bad english). I'll wait for answers, have a nice day =)

1.33 IS THE PATCHED VERSION. YOU CAN'T PATCH IT. THERE IS NO PATCH. YOU HAVE THE FINAL WORKING ALREADY PATCHED VERSION.
