Whatever they pay thiefessa to 'PR' ttlg can't possibly be enough.

Shit, dudes. This does sound bad. What exactly led to the RPS preview that was/is the reason I actually got excited about this game, though? That can't be the demo with AI disabled, surely? They were talking about AI interactions. Also, they don't exactly have a reputation for complicity in these things, and they made it sound actually, cautiously exciting. Fingers crossed this is some kind of overstatement, I guess. Well, fingers crossed if you're not busy sticking them up your own bum and screaming 'WE WERE RIGHT! NOW APOLOGISE!' or whatever.

Thanks so much for that last sentence. It was the one thing missing from the discussion.

more than welcome!

I agree...She deserves more money from EM...Perhaps we should create a petition of demand for her.

I'm glad you agree, Vivian...This pains everyone who wishes for a true THIEF game.

Are you guys just being over-sensitive or do you like to make things up for drama and point-scoring purposes? :ebil:
I have took the time to explain already, so please take the time to read and understand my earlier post so that I don't have to return to this forum and read nonsense. Maybe you like someone to take your frustrations out on... but its not going to be me. :p
As already explained. I don't believe everything I read, I like to stick to facts. If we were talking about anything other than EM etc, the moon made of cheese for example, or a miracle cure for cancer, or Moses parting the sea, then I would say exactly the same thing.
IF, and only if, reports/articles turns out to be true (backed up by identfied, reliable sources) will I then 100% believe it.
I reserve the right not to believe what I read, just as others do. I hope this now clarifies the situation for those who didn't understand my earlier post.
Back on topic.

There is some obvious nonsense in that article; disabled AI, sex-scenes etc, which is why I haven't taken any of it seriously at this point in time.
As it is the weekend, we probably won't get an official response to this latest article until Monday, so we may as well relax until then. :cheeky:

Dear Builder... sounds like another Aliens Colonial Marines in the making xD. I cant say how disappointed I am about all this after how great Human Revolution was, I was expecting a great game... instead they started cutting apart the vestiges that make Thief what it is... the difference between what this team is doing with Thief and what the other across the hall did with Human Revolution is that they Revived a franchise, they didn't Reboot it. Frankly, after this Stephen Russell debacle, if they dont hire him I'd like to see the company burn for that in the form of a poor selling game... if they do include it, I will resume to hope the opposite.
Vae on 27/4/2013 at 10:54
Yeah, they really blew it by not hiring Stephen Russell...If EM were smart, they'd alter course before things get even worse...Because as of right now, things are looking pretty bleak...:(

(
http://www.edge-online.com/features/eidos-montreals-thief-a-respectful-remastering-somewhere-between-sequel-and-reboot/) Some (new?) info on the demo. I don't like the sound of this at all:

And that is the key to Eidos Montreal's approach: it's not replicating the gameplay specifics of
a game too dated to emulate, but recapturing its spirit. On this showing, it seems unlikely that Thief will manage to surprise us, but there's every chance it'll be entertaining all the same.

It's not the only
lurch that Thief makes towards action gaming, though. The camera
slips into thirdperson perspective for the kind of ledge clambering seen in the Assassin's Creed series (during which Garrett uses a new piece of grappling equipment called the claw) and also during cinematic combat takedowns.
Sigh...don't get me wrong, I love Dishonored, but please don't turn Thief into "Dishonored Assassin" please!

That first point is getting truer and truer every week since March 5, and it's been the subtext since D'Astous's first magazine interviews in 2009, with the picture getting clearer with each new dev voice adding to it over the years. They aren't hiding it very well, and it's too bad they'd rather slip that out, then show us the great stuff that'd help us forgive that.
The second point's been known for awhile, but yeah, it's disappointing every time I hear it.
