What a terrible waste of time, allocated to a misguided vision of THIEF.
...and serious technical troubles, to boot...I wonder if we will ever see it released.
The Builder is not pleased...and punishes with tribulation, those who seek to mock the greatness of THIEF...:ebil:
Hammerite: They thought the foundation was weak and sought to tear it down and begin anew.
Lauryl: They were wrong.

So, you all relaxed now? :cheeky:
I'm considerably happier at least. Yosuke Matsuda stated bluntly that he's trimming the fat at all Square Enix studios this summer, I don't expect Eidos Montreal is going to survive that if this article is even fractionally accurate regarding how much money they've poured down the drain for five years.
Good Riddance. :cheeky:

EM responded to the loss made by SE when news first came out and they said it was very sad but it had no effect on them or Thief.

Of course they did, no studio is going to come out and say "we are scared out of our wits that after wasting millions of dollars for half a decade we are all going to get fired". I shouldn't have to explain this to someone in their PR division, volunteer or not. We'll see where the axe falls when Square Enix starts bringing it down next quarter.

LOL. You don't need to explain anything. I'm just sharing relevant information like anyone else would do. I'm not in EM's PR division either. Again, don't believe everything you read.
You are obviously convinced that this is the end, and that's fine... I have no personal wish to change your mind... or the mind of anyone else.
Honestly, I really don't care about who thinks what... about whatever.

A bit more, related to this:
"At GDC in March, I saw the press demo of the game and couldn't quite get a handle on it; it felt as thrown-together as it sounds like it actually was. It was difficult to tell whether or not the game was truly reacting to the player, or even if it was being played at all, in places. We weren't allowed to play the game ourselves, and as with any hands-off demo, were asked to take the developers' word that the game worked as it appeared to. The demo didn't give me what felt like an accurate view of the game, though trashing a hands-off demo felt unnecessary. In the end, I decided not to write it up."

Kotaku... definitely one of those sites I never take seriously.
I've never noticed... but have they ever written something exclusive and true?

Interesting. Adds up. The question is, is it really as bad as it sounds?
- There's a chance it will be a Bioshock Infinite (you might have heard of it). Often delayed and it had stuff in trailers that never appeared in the final game. The game was fantastic.
- Or it will be another Aliens Colonial Marines / Duke Nukem Forever.
- Or it gets cancelled and we'll never know.

Bioshock Infinite is about as good as Aliens: Colonial Marines.
