If some Thief character writes or says: Oh, Karras has a terrible voice!
massimilianogoi on 21/11/2009 at 14:00
Then no, for sure! Only one Hammer approached to this telling: hm11301F: "Their high priest professes to be a savior. Fickle, foolish nobles, to be so seduced by mere baubles."

How about...
Thief was made in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, by MIT students. Stephen Russell was not instructed not to talk like that. This all happened first, mostly before other versions were then made. The manuals and walkthroughs show differences and liberties made, the texts and translations show differences and liberties made, etc. I think it's pretty clear that the non-English versions were allowed freedom to not adhere strictly to the closest possible English form. Other cultural choices were very likely not made by the MIT students in Boston, and very likely, only Eidos UK personnel had any say at all. The only things I can readily imagine being a topic of discussion between the States and Europe would be how to render the Paganspeak and the cockney of characters like Dominic, Weythran, and Blackrat, and the pirates. Since even the straight English was modified in meaning, significantly in places, I have to believe the Boston team had no hand in the choice of voice actors.
Either Karras hallucinated his abuse, or it's rooted in actual experiences, since the Nobility say nothing but good things, gushing things, expressions of envy, and believe every word. There's no strict canon history of Karras at all, other than the possibility he really did give Garrett his eye--which could also be a twist of facts, since Garrett seems to know nothing of this. Other than that, nothing but dev talk that Karras was incensed by the Trickster's siege.
Strict canon says little. The unintentional and totally poetic/ironic/symbolic accidents of juxtaposed elements aligning so perfectly like cogs in LGS' plans. Everything doth prove so machine-like, so perfect... Too bad Stephen Russell's instructions gave him no reason to choose that voice and no one stopped him. You don't have to go with the fanon, but at least come up with theories that include everything, not just pick and choose favorite canon bits and discard the rest.
The very obvious and ridiculous voice hammering you over the head aside--what do you think the Nobility mocked him and spurned him for? What's your best guess? What's your favorite scenario?

HAhaahahah! Why I feel that I have already read this? Flashback!.... Maybe you wrote that in my Karras's victrolas video? I am PLATOON72, and I've recorded that odd video with the Karras victrolas imported in Thief - Deadly Shadows.

IMHO, Karrass sounds like Droopy Dog. :-D ahahahaha at this point I have to indagate who the hell is this Droopy Dog, with that only comment, I thought it was a distortion of the name of that funny black rapper Snoop Dogg. :joke:

Oh, come on. Do you think that everyone played thief just for the storyline? In that case, I just played Tetris for it's wonderful storyline.
