It means to leave the area in a stealthy way.

It's used in a famous song by Robbie Dupree, called "Steal Away". Lovers sneaking off into the night.

Uh, interesting!! I used Sound Forge the past years. But I abandoned it because it needed of a particular installation (required NET Framework 1.1, not the further versions), and because for my simple ogg<->wav conversion I use Audacity and Foobar.
