I am on the theif quest from Gentleman Jim where you kill hard heart and ask the others for help.
My problem is not killing hard heart
I stood on top of the desk and shot him with a crossbow while sneaking. He never even knew I was there. Heeeee!
Anyhow. I can't seem to get the other people to acknowledge that I even have the quest. How do you get Hrundi and Eydis Fire-Eyes to join in the good (or bad) fight with the thieves? I'm getting very frustrated with this inability to even get the people to give me the option to talk about it.
Thanks ahead of time!

Heyo, Ladybug; welcome to TTLG ;)
As to your problem, sounds like you killed Sjoring Hard-Heard before Stacey asked you to. If you kill him early and tell Stacey about it, you bypass (and are thus unable to do) any more of Gentleman Jim Stacey's "jobs"... because Stacey disappears when you leave. And that means that, if you kill him before Stacey asks you to, and before you're a Mastermind, then you'll never become "Master Thief". :erm:
Hope you have a save from before you killed Sjoring :p

I didn't kill him until after I had received the instructions from percius mercuis. Do I need to go back and tale to Jim again before I kill him?
I save like crazy and I always keep a backup of before I kill someone. I could go back to level one and start over if I needed to. LOL
Thanks

Ahhh, I think I see the disjoint... as you likely know, Gentleman Jim Stacey runs the entire Thieves Guild, and Percius Mercius runs the Ald'Ruhn Fighters Guild. The disjoint here is that I think you're mixing up their quests.
Percius just asks you to kill Sjoring Hard-Heard and his Orcish assistant.
Stacey asks you to convince Hrundi & Eydis Fire-Eye to be on the Thieves' Guild's side, then asks you to kill Sjoring Hard-Heard and his Orcish assistant.
Stacey won't ask you to kill Sjoring until after you've subverted Hrundi & Eydis... he doesn't care what Percius wants. If you kill Sjoring before Stacey asks you to, then what I put in the above post starts up.
(Glad to hear you're one of the few that saves frequently ;))

I figured it out from the first post. Took more game time but that's alright.
Another question for you. I got bored and wanted a home of my own and so I killed everyone in Arrill's Trade house in Scyda Neen and redecorated it as my own place.
I had fun doing it but will I ever need any of those people for a quest? I hate to give up my new home.
Oh and I have a few smilies that I made for my forum that I would like to have here. Can we submit them? I also do requests when I have the time.

One of 'em (Hrisskar Flat-Foot) has a mini-quest for you, but you can likely afford to ignore it. Another of 'em (Albecius Colollius) is one of those NPCs that has special topics to ask about things (in his case, being a battlemage), but like the others it's not a vital thing. Hmm.. I think those are the most important, at any rate.
