Hey. Been lurking here a while.
I am in the final stages of my Roleplaying-game rules for Thief. I would like to show you guys my work aswell as get some feedback, and ideas of what to include. It is quite the read (40 pages so far..), but please try to get a feeling for the gamesystem before you comment.
I have tried to make a realtively realistic, yet not too slow system.
The main things needed to be done are rules and background for various creatures and items, as well as how some spells are supposed to work. I have been doing this by brainstorming, by myself, and it is yet to be tested with a playing group (however this will be done early next year).
If you feel like contributing in any way, items or background story, or anything useful i will add you to a list for credit as i update the document and finish it. Have fun!
UPDATE!

Instead of subtracting the (ability+skill) total from the dice result, consider subtracting the dice from the (ability+skill) total. If you do it this way, then a high (positive) outcome is better. Although it might not seem to make any difference, it would mean that +3 to an attack roll would be a bonus rather than a penalty, which is more intuitive.
I'm a little confused about what Id6 means. If I roll a 6, and then roll two more dice and score 3 and 4, is my total 7 or is it 13?
While I've got a little more time, I'll draw up some probability tables and work out how your suggested numbers compare to actual probabilities.

I'm surpirsed that the Haunt gets a -2 to agility. They're quick bastards.

Cyber: Youve got a point, ill think about that. The only difference will be that the Id6 thing is less scary and more "wee! more dice! i will suceed!" , i like "scary" ;) still, maybe it has more benefits.
Id6: When a "6" is rolled, the die is removed and two new rolled. Each one possibly a new 6. Thus the value of 6 on a die geta an average value of 7(+the small addition of new "6" possbilities)
Vigo: yup. true. but they have no eyes and all those chainy thingies =D
really these are just exaples, would be nice if people suggested rules and descriptions for more creatures!

The rules and background are simliar to the fighting fantasy pen and paper game books by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone
So a thief based pen and paper rpg would be great:thumb:

Hehe nice to hear that the work is appreciated :D
How do you think i shoud do with the background? Extensive, or just short passages about factions/city areas/etc..
If i am to write much background this thing will be a publishable book in the future..
