Looking into a new laptop and the new surface laptops come with Snapdragon processors. I saw that windows has an x86 emulator built in. Does anyone know of if Thief I and II will work on these?
If this has already been discussed somewhere, can someone point me to the thread. Thanks!

I would like to say it should be fine on a premium Windows device, but I haven't tried it and it will still rely on emulation of older windows APIs so you might have a few graphical glitches or settings fiddling. I have been able to get Thief running on much less capable Android ARM devices but both took quite a bit of settings fiddling to get working.
The Nightdive remaster, due later this year maybe, is supposed to get ARM support, at least for Nintendo Switch, and will likely be a much more stable emulation target.
My Web of Darkness project post in this forum is in part motivated by better native performance on modern devices, including ARM-based mobile, tablet, and handhelds. Still early days and a lot of work to do to get acceptable mission fidelity.

Thanks for the response. My hope is there is very little to "tinker" with and everything just works. I do have a desktop that is future proof for my needs for quite some time. But, i would like to switch to just 1 computer at some point.

I play and dromed on Apple Silicon, using parallels. Works just fine. A little stuttering on some resource intensive FMs, at 4k.
