I'm thinking about upgrading my video card, and every time I do this, I always get squeamish about what it might do to Thief. I'm currently using a GeForce 7300 GT and it works fine, but I've read about the problems people have had with the 8xxx series cards and Thief, so I imagine the 9xxx series may not be any better. I do use ddfix, but I haven't seen anything in here from anyone using anything higher than an 8800 GT with ddfix, so if anyone uses anything closer to a 9800 GTX, I'd love to know how Thief looks on it.

edit: I should probably mention I'm using Vista, not XP, since a lot of threads about the video card issue mostly deal with Thief on XP.

There should be no problem with Thief and a GeForce 9800 after the patch avaible here:

I'm running a Geforce 9600 Mobile on my notebook in combination with Vista and after the patch Thief was working and looking like it should.

I haven't tried TG but T2 is running just fine on my husband's computer (Thanks to bikerdude) with a 9800GTX+ with Vista 64bit and it looks great!

That's the exact card I'm looking at, only I'll be running it under Vista 32-bit (which, hopefully, will work the same as your set-up as far as Thief goes).
