Haven't found an existing thread for this, so here it goes. What mistakes or inaccuracies have you found in the Thief games?
None of these are a big deal or immersion breaking for me, but still fun to uncover.
- Water\fire\gas arrows\crystals are a physical impossibility
- The blackjack in reality would probably kill half of its victims, and leave many others with concussions or permanent brain damage
- Rope arrows wouldn't be sturdy enough to support a human's weight
-There's no way Garrett can fit all that loot without a large bag that would hinder his movements
- The Hammerites were inspired by the Medieval Catholic church. However, Hammerite altars are standalone tables, away from the wall, which is primarily a Protestant (and post-1960's Vatican II Catholic) change. Classical altars were primarily high altars, propped up against the walls of a church, and were not used as pulpits - priests faced the altar during most of the mass, only rarely turning toward the congregation

- Water\fire\gas arrows\crystals are a physical impossibility, actually they can be real as in "ice crystal arrows",fire arrows are basically explosive arrows are also real and gas arrows can be viewed as a canister on end of arrow and fired

actually they can be real as in "ice crystal arrows",fire arrows are basically explosive arrows are also real and gas arrows can be viewed as a canister filled with gas on end of arrow and fired
blackjacks are real and yes if you hit anything hard enough can cause serious damage, look up u.k history on the keystone cops
rope arrows can be real, but probably not with a simple hand bow as the forces ,but with modern tech launching a arrow into a beam is 100% possible and having a rope at the end would work, now remember the rope would be attached to say a carabeaner that can hold what ever weight you want, the most important part would be lodging the arrow solidly into something
i do agree on the loot lmao to funny,do you remember that one mission where you start in a hotel room and you find out you have to kill everyone in entire map but in one part is a massive bag of loot when picked up makes you move slow lol

The worst inaccuracies? No sex, no drugs, no Rock'n Roll! What would you live for in this boring world?:cheeky:
Of course, most magical spells used are not possible in reality. Same goes with other magical or semi-magical things, like the Masks of T2 which play an important role in the plot of that game, and without them there would be no Mechanist slaves. And of course, there are Zombies and other undead, and cursed books and the like.
Then there are the physical glitches of the game engine, of course, like the possibility to accelerate Garrett to light speed by constantly making running jumps in T1, or the ability to survive a long fall by just dropping something a split second before hitting the ground.
Some places also seem "impossible", like the Lost City. How did this large city end up below The City, and largely in one piece, and why does the volcanic activity there seemingly never reach The City just above that location? And don't make me hold a lecture on the possibility of finding the Maw in our world... we'd rather find Flat Earth instead.
The AI behaviours are sometimes ridiculous as well. Take their inability to climb ladders, or their rather silly search behaviours if they know a thief has just run into a dead end, but still they can't figure out where in the small space said thief might be. Or remember the ways they die in unexpected situations, like if they fall into water, can't get out, and instead of calling for help or learning to swim, they yell things as if they were just fighting an enemy, regardless of whether one is in the vicinity or not...

Don´t forget Garrett´s amazing ability of eating! How he can eat that much food while having to climb ladders and rope arrows is beyond me :laff:
Whenever he doesn´t fit into a tiny window I´m like "damn garrett! you ate too much cheese again!"

No one ever farts in Thief. I find this most unrealistic.
Burricks belch, but you won't ever hear a guard drop his guts. It could have been an interesting stealth mechanic for Garrett, holding in a raspberry tart while the guards pass by. One little cheek squeak would give the game away.
Garrett: PARRPPP!
Guard: "I hear you there Taffer...I can smell you too. By the Builder, it smells like a grubber crawled up your a** and died!"
