If the ceiling beams didn't extend through the length of the building there wouldn't be much point for them being there.

It's an interesting phenomenon, I've yet to encounter a house IRL built like that.
One, houses are built a little differently these days than they were back in yee olde medieval tymes. And two, you apparently haven't been in many attics.

You're right, but there is no point for man-sized openings where the beam reaches the wall. I don't think the average house-builder or architect figures "hey, let's leave a large hole here so that a person can walk between the rooms on the beams". It's just lazy level design.

I don't see any attic in the trailer. Never seen this in medieval houses I've been in either.

If they didn't, then how the hell are people supposed to get up there to fix stuff, then?

That's exactly what I thought at this point of the video.

What do you mean? What is there to fix below the ceiling? Why would anyone waste a lot of space in order to create a spot to fix things? Why not use a ladder? Perhaps I am missing something. I need to watch this video again. :)
Of course, you can build a level where beams placement does make sense (also aesthetically). See
Masks.

I'm wondering how many different ways there are through that mission...and all missions, for that matter? Is that it? The only way through? I'm hoping that there's more to see of The City, in that particular mission, than the little bit we saw. And IS that actually part of the The City Hub, or was that just a locked down, linear portion of that particular mission?

To be truthful, I'm arguing for the sake of arguing here. I don't really know what everyone's talking about. :P
