Both games are set in a fantasy city modelled after London - a city with plague outbreaks being some of its most recognisable historical events. I can see how both would end up referencing that.
Dishonored was able to add in "zombie" NPCs by explaining their existence wth the late stages of a sickness. Instead of traditional undead, Thief is now doing the exact same thing as Dishonored.

It just sounds like a recipe for disaster considering the two are at odds in terms of gameplay and narrative.
I'm not sure how they're at odds in terms of narrative (aside from Dishonored's being shaped by the player), but it's weird to me that a game with gameplay inspired by if at times taken wholesale from Thief is at odds with Thief.
Can someone link me to info showing that the Thief zombies were created by the plague? I guess all of the mysiticism from the previous trailers was caused by the plague, too?

Is it? How do you know this? Link please.

I thought everyone had seen the leaked
concept art of the character Orion in different stages of Gloom infection turning him into one of the "gloombies". It has been floating around for a few weeks, though apparently not here. If someone is better at using Google than I you're welcome to try to help finding the picture. I'm not asking anyone to take my word for it, but that picture does really exist. Square just never wanted to release it probably because of spoilers.

Getting sicker from an infection only turns you into a zombie if that's what the disease does. How do you know he's just not getting sicker? You may be right but I don't think there is any real evidence for it.

If you're responding to me then don't bother because you got put in the ignore list after demonstrating absolute lack of credibility, and complete lack of need to be have anything you say taken seriously.

I'd like to know why the smeg "Garrett" apparently wears a glass fish bowl on his head.

He's got that robot eye, ZB. Remember? That's why the raindrops looks like they're pooling on a camera lens. Duh.

I'd say the biggest difference between me and you is a matter of perspective. I always expected nuThief is an entirely new game by an entirely new team, using the same source material to create their own version of Garrett and The City. Because of that, all the new changes and little discrepancies we've seen never bothered me as much as the people expecting a straight up Thief 4.
Plus, new gameplay trends tend not to bother me all that much. Even if some things are a little more fluid and automatic than they used to be, as long as the game ends up being an actual challenge on par with the originals, I'm fine with them. I don't mind that parts of the game are different than what I expected, or the controls and gameplay aren't quite the same, so long as the end result makes for a good game. That's all that matters to me.
It's not old Thief. We'll never have old Thief. Those days have long since come and gone. Why wail and gnash your teeth about something you can't change when nuThief might very well be its own good thing in its own special way?
My thoughts exactly. Well said, my friend, well said. :thumb:

Watch a bit of it without sound.
Whatever is wrong with it it looks the part. And it really doesn't look anything like Dishonoured.
Except for all the ceiling beams that apparently lets you traverse entire residences without ever going through a doorway or touching the floor, thanks to huge openings in every wall for said ceiling beams. T
It's an interesting phenomenon, I've yet to encounter a house IRL built like that.
