This goes without saying that the video contain some heavy spoiler of the first mission, watch at your own risk !

This is by far the best video they've released yet. Gotta say the atmosphere is great. It also rains in my upcoming FM taking place in Stonemarket, even if the place looks nothing like this.

These short bursts of in-game cutscenes seem more immersion-breaking than any amount of bunnyhopping could ever hope for.
The creative use of ambient sound that made the original games second to none in terms of audio is also completely gone.

This level reminds me of "Ambush" from T2. The only big difference is that it seems wayyyy more linear that level. :erg:

I wonder why they thought that that zoomy, floaty thing at around 3:30 was a good idea.
Edit: Saw a comment from Freyja on the EM board that it was the start of a cutscene that the person doing the playthrough skipped.

I am really not sure what you're talking about. There's plenty of good ambient sound in this video.

I would have liked to see more variation with the climbing. Only two minutes in, and its the same random piece of fencing beneath a partial ladder three times. Does he use the claw for every ladder?
I really like the look of the city. If it was more open to exploration and less linear, I think it could be fantastic.
I hate swoop though. It seems especially odd when moving backward. It just seems so easy to dive a few meters back into cover without sign or sound, and it does seem to be entirely silent. (As does running, even when right behind someone.) It makes mistakes much more forgiving.
I liked the view through keyhole feature. I know its not an innovation, but I'm happy with it.
I expected that using an arrow on a switch would be noisy and draw attention. It probably should.

Agreed. I actually liked the ambient used. Especially right at the very beginning of gameplay. I noticed there was a lot of quiet time too, which I can definitely get behind.
The voice acting was pretty bland as usual. All the guards sounded like 20 somethings and I didn't think there was much personality to be found in their or Garrett's voice.
