Hi everyone.
Ever since I upgraded to an LCD monitor, I've been having serious problems with Thief 1 and 2: the screen periodically goes black and eventually my computer locks completely, so that I have to restart manually. At first this only happened with Thief 2, but recently it also started with Thief Gold. I tried playing with the resolution and video options, but it doesn't change much.
Here are my specs:
Pentium 3
Windows XP Pro
64 MA Ati Radeon Video card
512 MB Ram
Any help would be appreciated

Ok the black screen sounds like windows is trying to use a resolution that the monitor dosent support. But as thief is crashing also then it has to be something to do with thief and your graphics card.
Whats the exact make & model of the gfx card and the lcd monitor.

Well that Acer can do upto 1280*1024, but the Radeon 7000 in thief I would say no higher than 1024*768 with no AA. What catalyst driver version are you using, as that card is quite old I suggest cat 6 or 7 as the newest version (9.4) wont be optomised for it.

I suggest not older than 7.11 if you want to see proper fog.

I just tried to hint that the FAQ here is still kind of… outdated.

note that the latest xp driver that supports the r7000 properly is catalyst6.5..
