No, that's a link to a post you made on another forum, a post which is about a rumour, which has no link to a source.
It could be total nonsense.
In fact it probably is.

The video at 2:35...
"Another really good example is that now it's a 1st-person game. The team did some prototypes with 3rd-person perspective."
This indicates that the NoFrag article was unfortunately, most likely true, as it was during the time of the release of this article when EM was doing these 3rd-person prototypes.
The Good News: The earlier 3rd-person THI4F project has been scraped and revamped.
The Bad News: This means that the possibility of some sort of "sneak mode" is very real, as it might have been carried over from the previous project.

I agree - it is entirely possible.
Possible.
But I wouldn't base that on any of these rumours. Its also possible that there will be things that explode in the game, but we don't need rumours or whatever to tell us that do we?

The combined evidence of the dev's statement + the NoFrag article increases the likelihood of such a possibility.
Evidenced possibilities have more weight, and are generally more probable than baseless, unreferenced, speculation.

What NoFrag article?

This one...

Did anybody copy the article before it was lost?

Eidos-Montréal are currently inviting select people under NDA for a test drive of Thief 4 on X360. A few snoopers contacted us to share their experience:
A large part of the game is played in third-person: mantling, movement and even archery. The game goes in first person mode when triggering a mechanism, when reading a note and more importantly when using the "sneak" toggle: this mode has body awareness and blackjacking.
This was then, so I feel better about it not being in the game now.

You guys are really clutching at straws. That's all there is? Pffftt.
My informants tell me it's mostly in 2nd person twice removed, so its not illegal.

We're not clutching at anything, just acknowledging the unwanted possibility.

Yeah, it's a good thing they revamped the 3rd-person approach...let's just hope they fell out of love with the "sneak mode" concept, as well.
