Hi!
First of all: I don't consider this as a problem. I'm just mentioning something I recently experienced.
I have a Terratec DMX 6fire 24/96 for playing Thief 3 in 5.1 surround sound. This card is Sensaura-"powered" and supports EAX up to version 2.0. Thief requires EAX 3 or better on the other hand.
However, when I enable hardware mixing I do have eax-like reverb, that's definitely not comming from the Audio files (which is mainly because I hear it in the rear speakers, too). It might be not the original reverb, but it sounds pretty nice. The problem is: when I do a quicksave, the sound stops for a second and afterwards the reverb is gone until I restart the game or reload the quicksave (or any other savegame). On the other hand it isn't affected by going to the menu (Esc-Key).
Did anyone else experience this? Or is it probably a driver issue? Is this question woth asking at all? :joke:

It is fixed by turning Hardware Audio off and back on, isn't it? Anyway, hardware sound going weird after quicksave is a known issue, AFAIR.

I haven't tried this one yet. However, it doesn't matter now. There's an old Audigy LS stuck in my PC now. No EAX 4, but at least EAX 3.
